Franz Cuhel Memorial Lecture
Randall G. Holcombe is DeVoe Moore Professor of Economics at Florida State University. He is past president of the Public Choice Society and the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics. Dr. Holcombe also served on Florida Governor Jeb Bush's Council of Economic Advisors from 2000 to 2006. He is the author of twelve books and more than 100 articles published in academic and professional journals. His most recent book "Political Capitalism: How Economic and Political Power Is Made and Maintained" has been published by Cambridge University Press in 2018.
Friedrich von Wieser Memorial Lecture
David Emanuel Andersson is the Discipline Lead for Economics at RMIT University Vietnam and holds a PhD in Regional Planning from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He is co-author of Time, Space and Capital (Edward Elgar 2017), as well as three earlier books that focus on institutional and spatial aspects of economic development. He has published numerous articles in journals such as Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space, Journal of Economic Geography, or Transportation Research. Since 2013, he has been Editor-in-chief of Cosmos + Taxis: Studies in Emergent Order and Organization, which is a multidisciplinary journal that explores spontaneous orders in the tradition of Friedrich Hayek and Michael Polanyi.
